PayPal Slowly Returning to Online Gambling

The company has been out of the US for some time, but after it’s departure from those shores PayPal continued to service overseas operators.

That changed last year when PayPal cut off all ties with the industry and stopped transactions to and from gambling sites completely.

Apparently that was just a phase, because the massive online payment processor announced today that it will be re-entering the market, albeit only with selected partners to start.

The first casino online to get the benefit of PayPal’s re-entry: Ladbrokes, who is a well-known international site.  32Red was next on the list, and pundits are speculating that major Euro sites such as William Hill could be following in the queue.

Will PayPal return to the US to service online gambling customers?  Highly unlikely, unless we start to see some movement on a regulatory scheme for online gambling in the US from the Federal Government.
