Barney Frank Bill Headed For Markup?

That’s the (possible) word coming out of the Congressional hearing on Frank’s bill yesterday.  If the bill does move to markup, that would be a significant step toward the bill becoming law.

More from CAP here.

The hearings went largely as expected, with pro and con sides staking out pretty familiar positions.  On the pro side, Annie Duke and others made the argument that poker was a skill game with a rich history in the US and that regulation would move the online game out of the shadows and protect those who needed protection from gambling.

On the con side, opponents argued essentially the opposite.

We’ll have updates if and when the bill moves to markup.
